You didn’t make that distinction in your original post.

You said “Africans”. You also said “Thousands”.

So I assumed you meant slaves because I do not believe there were “thousands” of free Africans fighting with the 13 colonies.

Prove your claim.

White supremacists defamed the flag.

Your resentment is poorly directed.

Unless you support use of the flag by white supremacists to advance their ideology, in which case this argument starts to make sense.

What I actually wrote was:

The nitwits at Nike and many in this very forum, refuse to give praise to and acknowledge that thousands of Africans fought under the Betsy Ross flag to win America’s independence from British rule and its introduction of slavery on the North American continent, and thus, win their own freedom.

My above statement is factually correct.

The Democrat Party Leadership has been angry, stupid and obnoxious ever since the Republican Party Leadership freed democrat owned slaves. ___ Author unknown

Which white supremacists have defamed the Betsy Ross flag?

I don’t think any have.

You don’t have to agree with everything the OPer has said here to agree this was a dumb controversy, drummed up over nothing.

I know what you wrote… no need to repost it.

Show me “thousands” of “free Africans” fought under the Betsy Ross flag?

You apparently do not know what I wrote, or, you are intentionally misrepresenting what I wrote. I wrote: . . . "thousands of Africans fought under the Betsy Ross flag. . . "

My statement is factually correct.

The liberty to succeed or fail at one’s own hand is a socialist’s nightmare and not the American Dream

John… my question is very simple…

You made a claim that Nike doesn’t care about the “thousands” of “Africans” that fought under the Betsy Ross flag.

Ok are you still following John? Ok good! Now I said this… bold for emphasis

Then you said…

You clarified your original statement by adding “free Africans”. Which still doesn’t address my issue I pointed out above. You expect Nike to honor a flag that slaves were forced to fight under? Is the Betsy Ross flag a symbol of the end of slavery?

When you expect Nike to honor “Africans” through the use of the Betsy Ross flag… are you talking freed Africans or enslaved Africans?

What have I written that is factually incorrect? Or are you now agreeing what I have written is factually correct?

Without a Fifth Column Media and Yellow Journalism [our MSM], the crisis at our southern border would never have grown to what now amounts to an outright invasion and threatens the general welfare of the United states.

This is a good point. The connection is not well documented. And I confess to being pre-disposed to accept it, especially because there are noticeable number of 3 percenter flags on the rigs in my neck of the woods.

No. You can start with answering my questions to clarify your position.

They were talking on the tube this morning that Betsy Ross was an abolitionist. Ignorant people like Kapernick should study their history before popping off imo.

They also reported that the flag store across the street usually sells 30 of the Betsy Ross style flags a day but sold over a 1000 yesterday.

I have been inside the Betsy Ross home an found it small but interesting. We toured most of the historical sites in Philadelphia 6 years ago as a trip celebrating my retirement.

Very historical and interesting city.

No. I didn’t clarify anything. I gave you information in regard to your personal erroneous projection asserting “… as if those SLAVES had a choice one way or another to fight. They fought because they were slaves… not because they believed in the flag.”

Now, once again, what have I written that is factually incorrect? Or are you now agreeing what I have written is factually correct?

Day three of complaining about shoes that the people complaining about were never going to buy in the first place.

I thought he first took a knee to protest police violence against blacks but now its just protesting the 1st flag and the current flag so even his reasons are suspect and don’t hold any substance at all, just throw a protest up against the hall & see what sticks.

BTW the Betsy Ross flag flew in both Obama’s inaugurations so where was the outrage back then? This is just more stupid stuff from anti-American leftist liberals, their audacity has no limits.

Yeah I thought Nike already permanently lost these people as customers last year.

If we don’t keep shaking our fists and yelling at clouds, how is anyone expected to know we’re outraged?

No that is just what the PR people changed it to after it blew up in his face. I will accept others who said it is was about the police violence because that was the narrative when they started. But for Kapernick his first statement about it was about the flag:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,”

Kaepernick was talking about police violence in the quote you provided as evidenced with the next 2 sentences of the statement.

To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

That is the reason he was protesting the flag. But the narrative turned into he wasn’t protesting the flag. Due try and keep up.

You’re disingenuously excluding the part that gives the entire statement context

“To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.
