California Governor Gavin Newsom spoke with reporters on his state’s efforts to fight the Coronavirus over the weekend; pledging more support for small businesses hiring undocumented workers and illegal immigrants.
“Other advocates have been asking you for more relief for undocumented workers, can you clarify on that front?” asked one reporter.
“I’m very proud of the work that we’ve done together last year… We’ll continue to do more. We have very specific processes on every proposal we advance publicly. We always consider those that are documented, those that are undocumented,” said Newsom.
“Just yesterday, I announced the work we’re doing to support small businesses… There are thousands of small businesses… including those without documentation in the state of California,” he added.
