I own up to my political and social beliefs. You should do the same.

For example, I support abortion in the cases of rape, incest, and to protect the mother’s life.

I am opposed to abortion for the sake of convenience.

I don’t feel any shame in admitting that. I own up to my own hypocritical views on abortion.

Here’s the thing, I am against abortion but the woman’s right to choose is more important than the fetus’s life.

The right to bear arms can save lives too, if a shooter starts running rampant, a citizen with a gun can stop them, as has happened. Banning guns hasn’t stopped lunatics and criminals from wielding them against law-abiding citizens.

One would have thought, particularly after it has been noted by me on many occasions, that it is up to the voters of the USA to decide what should be done with respect to changing the USA gun laws. Pure and unadulterated nonsense is the rationale expressed in that post. Demonstrably the proliferation of guns in the USA is the explanation for why the USA has a problem with guns that similar countries do not have.

No it’s not. There are millions of more guns in the US than there were 50 years ago, yet the rate of violent crimes involving guns is down. Your entire argument is based on emotions, not fact.

I believe the premise of the post is that after one mass gun shooting in NZ the Kiwis had the political leadership to institute gun law reforms. Given the number of mass shootings in the USA the question is why the USA doesn’t have similar political leadership.

I’m just putting it in perspective. Of the 40,000 people in the US who die from gunshot each year, perhaps 2000 are innocent victims of violence. The rest are suicides, criminals shot by cops, and criminals shot by criminals. On the other hand all 60,000 who die from abortions are innocent victims.
