Because their incomptence and piss poor decision making have led to thousands of unnecessary deaths and they’ve been the direct recipient of most of the medical aid that has put the other states in danger as a result.

All the ranting and screaming and begging they did diverted un tolled resources to NYC that were never used and would have greatly reduced the suffering and strain on the system elsewhere.

Newyorkers elected their incompetent leaders let them pay for it.

Except for all the tax dollars the Lincoln states send to the red states. Most dramatically all the bailout money given to the farmers…the coastal states pay way more into the federal coffers than the states benefiting from those bailouts.
