New Reagan statue at site of his famous speech at the Berlin Wall

Thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, a statue of Ronald Reagan was dedicated at the site of his famous 1987 speech, where he said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”.

The wall opened up on November 9, 1989, a little over two years after Reagan’s speech. The wall was soon dismantled, and within two years the Soviet Union and its empire in Central and Eastern Europe had collapsed.

In the time between Reagan’s speech and the fall of the Berlin Wall, a young Bernie Sanders took his honeymoon to the Soviet Union. He and his bride came back extoling life there, just months before the wall came down. Here is a video of a few of their comments:

I wonder what Bernie Sanders and other American socialists think about the new Reagan statue?

Bernie specifically praised the Soviet youth programs. These programs indoctrinated children in Communist ideology and militant atheism. Do Bernie and other socialists want similar programs here?

If the Soviet Union and its satellites were a socialist paradise, why did their Communist governments collapse within a few years of Sanders’ glowing reports?

Monica Crowley obviously thought the Berlin Wall was a good idea.

Who cares about Monica Crowley?

Based on Bernie’s gushing reviews, there should have been people rushing to get into East Germany and other Soviet-controlled countries. Instead East German guards were shooting anyone who tried to escape.

Isn’t socialism wonderful?

Because of a picture? I took a picture while in at the Dresden camps while in Germany but I didn’t think Dresden was a good idea.
