New evidence of obstruction of justice?

Putin’s friend was paying Joe’s son 3, 4, 5, possibly more millions of dollars and he got under investigation, and Joe bragged two years later that he got the prosecutor general fired. He just left out of it that the prosecutor general was investigating his son and his son’s crooked boss, and then afterwards, the case disappeared. – Rudy Guiliani about Joe Biden and his son

For the quote from Biden about using threats to withhold aid to Ukraine to get the prosecutor fired, see section starting at 2:29 in the first video in the link.

Biden defended his son and claims that Giuliani’s interest is a “personal attack”:

‘It is a personal attack and I expect that from Rudy Giuliani and the president,’ he added. ‘It’s the way these guys play.’ . . .
‘There is not one single bit of evidence that my son ever interfered or asked me for anything or gotten anything,’ he said.

Attorney General Barr has recently announced that US attorney John Durham has been investigating potential abuse in the issuing of FISA warrants against the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. Should a similar investigation be opened into Biden and his son?

Or is Biden right in claiming that investigation of his son is simply a personal political attack?

If they have evidence of obstruction, why is the Trump administration DOJ not taking the evidence before a grand jury? Why would Giuliani be investigating?

This incident needs to be thoroughly investigated and if true…it is THE SWAMP and further establishes why I voted for Trump? What’s being said is that Biden held the billion dollars as ransom until the prosecutor was fired investigating the transaction Biden’s son was involved in. Allegedly, a threat was made that they’d tell President Obama. Biden’s response was that Obama was well aware and totally approved. I sure hope this isn’t true but if it is, I want it exposed and those complicit, prosecuted by the laws they’ve broken.

It’s just another diversion. These people are great at that.

Just so everyone here knows, this poster was against the Mueller investigation. He was also for the Benghazi investigations.

Towards the end of the first video, Giuliani claims that the Ukrainian government attempted to give information to the US Justice Department and FBI but they refused to accept it.

Giuliani also claims that the US ambassador to Ukraine, who was appointed by Obama, was interfering with any investigation. She has been recalled and is scheduled to leave on May 20.

Nothing to see here move on . . .

Why is Giuliani involved in this matter? He is not a member of the DOJ. Why is TRUMP’s DOJ and FBI refusing to accept the information?

This is kinda the down side of being in charge, you really can’t blame the other guys when you have all the authority to investigate…

Publicity stunt?

The DOJ and FBI are federal agencies; Trump is only able to appoint a handful of administrators. The vast majority of managers and workers are career civil servants that are almost impossible to fire. As witnessed by the text messages between the FBI agents investigating the Trump campaign, many are strongly anti-Trump based on politics.

Realize that Trump got only 4% of the popular vote in the District of Columbia; the politics of federal workers in Washington are very close to those of delegates to the Democratic National Convention. It is hardly surprising that that the DOJ and FBI have had little interest in investigating Biden or the Obama administration.

Giuliani has no legal authority to investigate anyone for alleged federal crimes. Why is he involved in this?

This is one of those things that is going to be like Uranium One… a CEC fever dream with no real meat.

The accusation is that Biden blackmailed Ukraine’s new leaders into firing the country’s chief prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, to derail an investigation he was leading into a Ukrainian gas company that the vice president’s son, Hunter, was paid to advise.
The truth, Kaleniuk said, is that Shokin was forced from office at Biden’s urging because he had failed to conduct thorough investigations of corruption, and had stifled efforts to investigate embezzlement and misconduct by public officials following the 2014 uprising.

Cool. If you accept that anything from the Intercept is gospel truth, then consider this article detailing financial relations between the Bank of China and Hunter Biden among other US political figures. Biden involvement has included funneling funds to develop technology by used by surveillance agencies in China:

Hunter Biden’s investment company in China, known as Bohai Harvest RST, has pooled money, largely from state-owned venture capital, to buy or invest in a range of industries in the U.S. and China. Bohai Harvest has put money into an automotive firm, mining companies, and technology ventures, such as Didi Chuxing Technology, one of the largest ride-hailing companies in the world after Uber. . .
As The Intercept has previously the HNA Group has made unusually extensive efforts to cultivate U.S. officials. The company floated an offer to buy out the hedge fund owned by former White House official Anthony Scaramucci; retained the legal services of Gary Locke, the former U.S. ambassador to China, shortly before his confirmation; and provided financing to a private-equity firm backed by Jeb Bush. HNA Group, notably, also courted Bill Clinton, touting meetings with the former president at philanthropy events hosted by the company.

Certainly the huge amount of funds going from foreign governments to US officials and their families needs to be investigated.

Or are you happy with having the best government that (foreign) money can buy?

So you agree that the Ukraine story is fiction.

Cool.

I think that the financial relationships between Hunter Biden and foreign governments are certainly worthy of investigation. For example, has he registered as a foreign agent as required by law?

Perhaps the senate should call him to explain how he assures that his extensive foreign business relationships are free from problems with conflicts of interest, insider trading, etc.

So you do at least agree that the Ukraine thing is made up.

Right?

Giuliani is not the first to point out the questionable ethics associated with the Vice President’s son’s receiving large amounts of money from foreign governments. Here is a tongue-in-check review from 2014:

But the Ukrainian Prosecutor General says that there isn’t anything there and that they are not under investigation

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-05-16/ukraine-prosecutor-says-no-evidence-of-wrongdoing-by-bidens

So someone is lying.

Is it the Ukranians?

For two years I was told you did the investigating before you had the evidence.

Anyway, maybe they don’t have evidence that a crime was committed but they can’t exonerate Biden either.

Why would Guliani be “investigating”? Can he get warrant or subpoenas? Can he indict?
