Ours all are pretty well stocked with the stay in place orders and shortened store hours curtailing some of the hoarding. It also looks like the hoarders have hoarded all they can hoard. TP lasts longer than 15 mins now.

No it spreads only slightly faster the big problem is there’s not a vaccine for it yet.

In the end it looks like when the number settle down it’s going to have approximately the same mortality rate as H1N1 Flu.

Unless there’s a radical change in numbers is certainly going to have mortality rates much closer to H1 N1 than to the original to 3-5% that was predicted.

No, it does not scale in a linear fashion. We can’t handle all those additional patients on top of existing patients. When you breach system limits, the effects are not simply additive.

Why do COVID patients get hospitalized at 5x the rate of flu patients? Because the illness is worse than flu…which is why hospital stays are longer as well.

Do you know the difference between primary and secondary pneumonia? If you were a medic, I’m sure you do.

Finally, we have shut down large swaths of our economy because of a failure to act promptly. Shutting down the system to practice draconian social distancing is a system failure.

Yes we can.

No, it’s not.

Yes, I do. Hence my question.

You seem to feel Korea isn’t being impacted economically? That they are going on normally? That their government isn’t giving out economic aid?

Uh oh

WESTERLY, RI (AP) — The Rhode Island National Guard started going door to door on Saturday in coastal areas to inform any New Yorkers who may have come to the state that they must self-quarantine for 14 days while Gov. Gina Raimondo expanded the mandatory self-quarantine to anyone visiting the state.

Then they are recovering. For the last six weeks stores in much of the nation were cleaned even more than you normally see with a major hurricane 48 hrs from making landfall.

And separate with returns. Works every time.

Unemployed projectionist

China covered up the extent and spread of the disease to protect their own economic interests.

I’m not a conspiracy nut but I would say there’s a very good chance that when they saw just how much he conomic damage it was going to do to them they purposely misled the rest of the world allowing it to escape.

Theory being if their economy is going to be destroyed in the world is going to end up cutting many ties with them industrially then it’s in their best interest to make sure the rest of the world’s economy suffers at least as much if not more.

Then all nations have to recover at something similar to the same rate and of course as long as China holds most of the world’s Manufacturing they will be the ones to rise fastest.

What is even more unconscionable is the willingness to help them do so by The Who.

Obviously that would be your local mayor and your Governor.

There’s nobody in Washington DC or sitting in the federal office anywhere it says we’re Louisiana’s needs or those of New Orleans as the mayor’s and the governor.

Governors are given regular national security briefings and in the case of an upcoming potential event in their state they get special briefings giving them as much relevant information as they need to make decisions on their own.

Think hard who knows New Orleans better the Meijer are some bureaucrats sitting in a cubicle in DC?

Who knows weezyana better the governor or some bureaucrat sitting in the cubicle in DC?

The Federal Emergency Response is designed only to provide Aid and support to the state and local governments, and they can’t even do that really until there is a Nash National or federal disaster declared for that state county City locality.

Your local County and state government is always responsible for their own disaster prep. They are the first response in any emergency, it is their duty to be prepared.

If the emergency or disaster overwhelms the local County city and state and a disaster application is forwarded to DC and approved then and only then did the feds have jurisdiction over the affected area. When they do they will step in to support the local County and state government not to replace them unless they have been destroyed effectively by whatever the disaster than it is.

Hilarious coming from the guy that just three weeks ago was still telling us this outbreak was nothing to really be concerned about.

So much for that self-professed Insider industry knowledge and expertise.

All you’ve done since you finally woke up and noticed there was a problem is b**** because everybody else failed to.

Well that and deny the response that have been ongoing since December.

Dude, you were doing that until yesterday.
:man_facepalming:

Remember? The only people who need to worry are those over 80 otherwise it’s not any worse than the flu

Quote me saying that even once.

Your continued misrepresentations of what I’ve said in the past are truly a window into your soul they will also hang you eventually.
