For third place? I wouldn’t celebrate that too heavily… well, maybe, depending on what it’s for.

CDC estimates* that, from October 1, 2019 , through March 21, 2020 , there have been:

38,000,000 – 54,000,000

flu illnesses

24,000 – 62,000

flu deaths

A pretty typical year.

And we shut the country down for 2,000 deaths. Because it is “new”?

It is media driven hysteria.

The aid package was to offset the panic.

I was thinking first and second term were occupied by Trump or China Flu.

The second term is indeed Trump. lol

24,000 – 62,000

Flu deaths

Think about that. Right now, WORLDWIDE 33,000 people have died of this Corona. WORLDWIDE.

The number above is in the US. So if we take our 2,000 number and pretend this has been going on for just 1 month and no state has “peaked”, then multiply it by the 6 months of flu season, what do we get?

2,000 × 6 = 24,000? That doesn’t sound right. Oh, “exponential!” 2,000 x 6 = 12,000 x 5 (E) = 60,000 where (E) is exponential because only China Flu is exponential. We’re getting close, what am I missing?

Ah ■■■■ ! The MULTIPLIER! .09

So 60,000 x .09 = 5,400

60,000 + 5,400 = OH ■■■■ WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!

Flash floods and yearly rainfall. Flash floods will overwhelm storm sewers, flood homes, cause all sorts of damages.

The yearly rainfall will be a larger number, but because of the gradual amount, the storm sewers can handle it.

Let’s pretend

  1. Everybody has to be hospitalized.
  2. Everybody needs a ventilator.
  3. Everybody is sick in every area.
  4. New ventilators weren’t already being made every day.
  5. Nobody is recovering at all.

You compared this to the flu numbers, just trying to illustrate the difference.

What’s the next problem?

There is no difference. Unless you need it to be and follow my list of pretends.

Clearly there is or do you believe our all powerful media can shut down our economy?

Media=Panic=Outcry=Government=Business= Shutdown

Math is fun.

Alot of people ran out and bought toilet paper, no real panic yet.

We shut down 30% of the country and climbing! We passed the biggest spending bill in history without a quorum or a vote.

No real panic?

No we had to enforce distancing because of a highly contagious virus.

The last bookmark I had with our posts about this was march 15th was 169,517. Currently we are at 684,788.

I wonder what our numbers would be without any of the lockdowns.

19 million?

That would be bad.

Look at the flu numbers.

I was. Covid19 is new and is still being studied but it appears to spread faster and have a higher fatality rate.

Look at how much “more” to meet those numbers.
