NC-09 flips blue

Percent Candidate Party Votes Winner
50.8% Dan Bishop GOP 89,941
48.6% Dan McCready Dem 86,120
0.6% Other 1,059
91.9% of precincts reporting (193/210)
177,120 total votes

Not been called yet, but I think this is a GOP win.

Meanwhile,

Percent Candidate Party Votes Winner
61.5% Greg Murphy GOP 65,968
37.7% Allen Thomas Dem 40,497
0.8% Other 856
92.4% of precincts reporting (218/236)
107,321 total votes

The second race is NC-3.

Percent Candidate Party Votes Winner
50.9% Dan Bishop GOP 93,725
48.6% Dan McCready Dem 89,486
0.6% Other 1,103
97.6% of precincts reporting (205/210)
184,314 total votes

And the race has just been called for Bishop.

Low turnout

Hhaha Not looking good for 2020 dems eh?

County Margin Total votes % reporting
Mecklenburg D+13 63,720 96%
Union R+21 60,327 100%
Robeson D+1 20,915 100%
Cumberland R+0 14,991 100%
Richmond R+5 9,050 100%
Scotland D+13 6,482 100%
Bladen R+19 5,883 100%
Anson D+14 5,560 100%

Bishop sealed his victory in Union County, running up a sufficient margin to offset McCready’s margin in Mecklenburg County.

Well that didn’t go like libs planned.

I wouldn’t necessarily conclude that. Both Romney and Trump won that Congressional district by 11.6%.

One election has you give this opinion? Where NC is a slightly red state?

Okie dokie…

Could have done a backflip into cement and it would have made just as much sense

Okie dokie…
But tell the truth if it had gone the other way you would be here squealing we have a mandate and its not looking good for the right in 2020 right?

Nope…too early. One election is not a trend.

But it would be something to keep an eye on…

If trump won it by 11.6. And this spread shrunk…one has to consider what might happen…

I’m willing to bet if Republicans had won this seat by only two votes, they would still be gloating the same way. And had they lost by lost two votes, they would have been dismayed. Look at the big picture folks.

Low turnout election. In 2018 the winner had 140,000 votes, this time only 93,700+.

Republicans likely cheated.

Past is prologue.

Pretty high turnout for a special election. Both bases showed up. We will see where the swing voters go in 2020.

Oh. So we were referenced to an irrelevant historical article.

They’d be out looking for those two illegal voters.

Reminds me of an old joke about a Missouri county election commission counting presidential votes in '48

"34 for Truman’
“26 for Truman”
“63 for Truman”

“Mr. Commsioner, there’s a vote here for Dewey”
“If a citizen chooses to vote for Mr. Dewey, count his vote”

“1 for Dewey”
“72 for Truman”
“85 for Truman”
(pause)
“1 for Dewey”
“DISALLOW that vote. He voted twice”

The libs tap dancing in this thread looks like the freaking cast of “Riverdance”.

Sun probably got in the eyes of Democrat voters.

Between this win in NC and yesterday’s ‘bombshell’ thread reversal, I predict some angry posters today.
