Absolutely!

I honestly don’t follow. Chik-fil-A is free to release a statement opposing a piece of proposed legislation, just as Disney is. If some liberal Governor wanted to single out the franchise for punishment because of it, and the company wasn’t breaking the law, I wouldn’t defend that because I don’t know how.

Public criticism and consumer choice are an entirely different matter.

Tucker Carlson makes the point its usually Dems complaining about tax breaks given to big corporations. So why is that some Reps found it necessary to defend the tax breaks given to Disney?

And today, the leading minds in conservatives Erica finance are Larry Kudlow and Rand Paul is the scientitian.

Are you referring to the apparent 180 a lot of conservatives have taken regarding permanent wars? If so, I’d like to think a lot of them have grown up and evolved past the whole “GOP/War is awesome!” viewpoint.

That’s a reasonable response. And post-Iraq, especially, it’s a notable shift in the GOP base. Trump both reflected and shaped it, I think. If he had a virtue, it was in his disinterest in military adventures. I can imagine him hearing some proposal and going, “What the hell are we doing?” Not a bad question.

But it also happens to align with the overall US political climate after the last 20 years. It’s an easy 180 at the moment. Here’s the thing: I will believe the shift is real when I see Republicans avoid an opportunity to capitalize on a crisis or war when the country’s in a different mood, or when Republicans side with liberals in opposition to a war. George W. Bush pointedly campaigned on “no nation-building.” We saw how that worked out.

Bush is the one who made me re-evaluate my stance on military entanglements. I went down the MIC rabbit hole and hated what I saw. I felt like I and a lot of other great people I served with were merely pawns.
I’m in the Jimmy Dore mindset when it comes to military adventurism. I think the mainstream left-leaning media pushes for unnecessary entanglements as well.
