The New York Daily News is reporting that Trump-branded restaurants have been cited for cleanliness violations, including mice, filthy food prep areas and broken sewage systems. The locations cited included Trump Tower, where they found “evidence of live mice.” Sounds like a place that could use a national emergency.
This is interesting.
President Trump — who’s technically still the chief executive of the restaurant since he never completely divested from his namesake company when he moved into the Oval Office — has a tendency to not clean up after himself, according to a former business associate. “He has always been far more focused on creating an image for his properties than in spending what it takes to make them excellent,” the ex-associate told The News, speaking on condition of anonymity in order to be candid.
A spokesperson for the Trump Organization wouldn’t comment directly on the rodent reports but said any “minor infractions” were dealt with immediately. The rep also noted the Midtown eatery has an “A” rating despite the violations. But a Health Department spokeswoman noted the Trump restaurant is still an outlier, as only about 22% of food establishments in the five boroughs have “mice-related violations.”
Not really - Trump is from New York, Trump is the President of the United States, Trump licenses his name to restaurants in New York that are found to be violating the health code. Ergo its a story of interest to New Yorkers and why it is printed in the New York Post.
What I find paradoxical is how we are told Trump has complete control over his company and his ability to manage the Trump organization is why he was qualified to be President. But now every time something untoward is revealed about the Trump organization such as hiring illegal immigrants or restaurants violating health codes we are told that Trump is not responsible and its his management team letting him down.
I have to say, I’ve known about Donald Trump for decades. This is why I would never have thrown one penny his way. He’s a fake who’s all about the show with zero substance or quality.
Yeah, that’s the one. Amazing what happens when you
a) open a business in Atlantic City in the first place (it’s a dump), and
b) casinos start popping up in states all around you, including indian casinos
Trump predicted that the Taj would go bankrupt? And yet he went ahead and opened a casino he knew would go bankrupt in a city that you say is a dump. Brilliant.
Some people understand business and some don’t. But you can see some of the alarms were sounded in 1993, and wouldn’t you know it, it came true.
"Trump’s goal is to protect his turf. For there is in the Washington office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs 600 linear feet of genealogical data designed to prove that a small band of Passaic and Bergen County residents—The Ramapough Mountain People—are descendants of American Indians and are therefore entitled to federal recognition as a tribe. The Ramapoughs and two other New Jersey tribes already have state recognition, thanks to an act of the Legislature and the governor. But acknowledgement by the federal government is more coveted, because with official tribal status could come land. And upon that land in the Ramapo Mountains, some think, will rise the sort of gambling supermarkets that already are in operation in Connecticut and upstate New York.
The prospect has Atlantic City’s supporters talking as though they have had a vision of the Apocalypse, one in which the Four Horsemen are Native Americans carrying playing cards and bingo markers. To be sure, the stakes are enormous. Atlantic City’s casinos bring in $3 billion a year, and last year they generated $391 million in state and local tax revenue—a huge chunk of Trenton’s annual budget. Even if casinos have failed to return the city to its former glory, they still account for tens of thousands of jobs, and there are plans for a $700 million tourist corridor to link the casinos with downtown. All of that could be wiped out, casino advocates say, if Indians begin opening their own casinos in New Jersey."
