Potential Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi doubled-down on her party’s commitment to “protect” the Affordable Care Act this week; saying the issue will be the Democrats’ top priority should she regain her position as leader.
Pelosi was speaking with CBS News when she was asked to weigh-in on her top legislative priorities following the high-stakes 2018 midterm election.
“Instead of protecting the law of the land, the President has sided with those attorneys general who want to eliminate that benefit,” said Pelosi. “They have another chance with us in the majority to join us and remove all doubt about pre-existing medical conditions.”
“I’m staying as House speaker to protect the Affordable Care Act. That’s my main issue,” she added.
