The DOJ would need to falsify info in order to create the conspiracy that Nancy wants . I don’t think many people in the DOJ want to risk that. They are partisan, but not stupid. And no, we don’t trust them. They have not earned it.

But coming clean on the Hunter Biden investigation and the Russia hoax might be a good way to restore some trust.

While cellular companies store metadata for lengthy periods of time, they do not typically store the content of text messages for very long, sometime not at all. So this request is simply saying, “Don’t delete anything just yet, we still may need to look at something”.

That’s not fishing, that’s literally how an investigation works. FFS.

Did you see the end of the Newsom recall thread? Seizing private property to solve the homeless problem was not only proposed by a Conservative but defended by another. That and building low income housing in the areas with the highest property values. Because that makes good fiscal sense.

As I have said, if they have other evidence stating they were involved, then no issue at all with TARGETED requests.
