Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi continued to push back against her colleagues’ non-stop calls for impeachment Wednesday; telling fellow Democrats she’s more interested in seeing President Trump sent to prison.

“’I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,’ Pelosi said, according to multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting. Instead of impeachment, Pelosi still prefers to see Trump defeated at the ballot box and then prosecuted for his alleged crimes, according to the sources,” reports Politico.

“They said she was expressing solidarity with pro-impeachment Democrats who want to hold the president accountable while disputing the idea that it is now time to take that step. Pelosi has long argued that certain conditions must be met before Democrats begin impeachment — public support and strong bipartisan backing, neither of which have so far materialized,” adds the article.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi continued to push-back against impeachment demands from her far-left colleagues last Thursday; saying she won’t be ready to launch a Democratic campaign to remove President Trump until she has “all the facts.”

“You don’t bring an indictment of you don’t bring an impeachment unless you have all the facts, the strongest possible case so that the President is held accountable. One way or another, in the court of public opinion, or in the court of law, or in the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi told reporters.

Top Democrats and a handful of 2020 presidential candidate are now using Robert Mueller’s Wednesday address to push the impeachment of Donald Trump; saying the special counsel’s comments were a clear “tipping point.”

“Prominent Democrats are ramping up calls to impeach President Trump in the aftermath of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s statement on Wednesday recapping his investigation’s findings and emphasizing his report did not exonerate the president of obstruction of justice,” reports Fox News.

“With respect to [the] impeachment question, at this point all options are on the table and nothing should be ruled out,” said House Judiciary Chairman Nadler.

“Robert Mueller’s statement makes it clear: Congress has a legal and moral obligation to begin impeachment proceedings immediately,” posted Cory Booker on social media.

“Mueller’s statement makes clear what those who have read his report know: It is an impeachment referral, and it’s up to Congress to act. They should,” added Elizabeth Warren.

“What Robert Mueller basically did was return an impeachment referral. Now it is up to Congress to hold this president accountable. We need to start impeachment proceedings. It’s our constitutional obligation,” posted Sen. Harris.

“There must be consequences, accountability, and justice. The only way to ensure that is to begin impeachment proceedings,” said Beto O’Rourke.
