Tell me this. Let’s pretend we accept this notion that you are actually concerned about what happened on Jan 6th and that you actually do want to get to the bottom of it.

Who exactly would you question? Who are the people you would seek testimony from?

I am not familiar with all the actors involved and their involvement, so I am not qualified to give you an answer.

As I have previously indicated, if one is sincere in wanting to hold accountable people seeking to undermine our political system, which I believe is a noble cause, then demand those you suspect, or are suspected of the undermining our political system to be invited to attend the current hearings, present evidence, subpoena witnesses, cross examine witnesses, and speak on their own behalf. And, in addition, have the hearings carefully examine our system’s transfer of power which begins with its election process. To not do so exhibits a glaring suspicion.

Let me set the scene.

The Capitol is under attack from a domestic threat.

What should the President of the United States do?

A. Call the people on their cell phones.

B. Scatter flyers from a helicopter and tell them to cool it.

C. Hang a badge on his chest, grab a shotgun and ride his horse to the Capitol and take charge.

Wow. Had he done ‘C’ he might very well be president today.

Interestingly, he had a much more environmentally friendly take on ‘B’…he coulda sent a tweet telling people to cool it.

And sending tweets was his very favorite thing!

You are not familiar because you have willfully chosen to disregard the evidence produced by the Jan 6th Committee to date. Evidence that was fully produced by Trump’s own staff, his family, his inner circle of advisors and his own legal counsel.

Now I know how much you hate deflection, so I’m going to assume you’ve somehow missed my questions to you related to this matter. I will ask again.

If you’re truly interested in investigating Jan 6th, who would you call for testimony? You don’t need to know the precise details to know who you’d want to question, so please answer.

They have been. Most have obliged, some have been subpoenaed.

Was the “evidence” you refer to subject to adversarial scrutiny during the hearing? How about witnesses who testified, were they subject to an adversarial examination about their assertions and testimony? Or is it a fact that the “hearings” are nothing more than a carefully choreographed political clown show masquerading as an attempt to get to truth and facts?

John, do you honestly not know how a Congressional investigative committee works? Do you understand the objective?

Everything you’re asking about pertain to a criminal trial. And as I said before, while I pray that we get there, that is not what this committee is for. No Congressional committee has the authority to initiate criminal prosecution. The only thing they may do in the course of their investigation is make a referral to the DOJ, and then, and only then, will you see cross examinations and everything else in your fever dreams surrounding this issue.

Let me ask you a very, very simple question John. In the course of any, literally any, police investigation, is the evidence collected, or the witnesses involved, subjected to the things you’ve asked about above? No, of course not. Because it’s a damn investigation.

Don’t ever pretend like you understand the law in the future. I’m embarrassed for you with this performance. FFS.
