So you have a belief here. Explain it. What should we do that limits the ability of representatives to possibly benefit from their work on our behalf. Please contribute.

Because otherwise you are a child. Not a man. Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Little boys post memes and don’t want to discuss things in a political discussion form. You are acting like a child. Are you a child?

I already did. Per capita is meaningless when citing how much Federal money is sent to any State, particularly when the Feds have such a dominant presence. The allegation was that Alaska gets more Federal money than any other State and that is absolutely untrue.

tnt:
Who said it was federal?
It’s socialist. Whether is comes from a state level government or a federal level government, sharing the resources of the state with the people is socialist. And it works well for your state
I never said or even suggested that it isn’t socialistic in principle. But the State Constitution says that the benefit of the resources belongs to the people of the State so it’s our money and we can do with it as we like. So you can just bugger off.
But speaking of sharing the resources, our Statehood compact with the Feds (the legal contract regarding statehood) says the State will receive 90% of royalties on resources extracted from Federal land. The US Government has never honored that contract.

True. But a contribution doesn’t necessarily mean a quid pro quo, or at least it shouldn’t.
If held in a blind trust? Sure.
That’s kinda funny. Considering it was the oligarchy of Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, and a few others that put biden into office.
I would agree. Exactly what do you wish to do about it?
Suggestions?

Sorry. I amend my statement to ‘Alaska is the most dependent on federal funding’.
Alaska
Alaska is the most federally dependent state, as over 57% of the state’s revenue comes from federal funding. Some reasons why Alaska gets a lot of federal dollars include the difficulty of maintaining infrastructure in a big state with harsh weather and a small population, plus Alaska’s richness in natural resources, its vulnerability to disasters and its defensive importance.
Alaska also has a lot of federal jobs – in fact, nearly 5% of the state’s workforce is employed by the federal government. For context, the share for most states is only between 1% and 3%.
Finally, Alaska has a very good return on the taxes that its residents pay to the federal government. For every $1 that residents pay in taxes, the state receives $2.47 in federal funding, over double their investment.
Most & Least Federally Dependent States in 2024.
Swell. I just have to chuckle that someone benefiting so profoundly from a socialist system often rails against social systems that would benefit others.

Why are you so hung up on the piddly amount of Federal money that is spent in Alaska compared to what most other States get? And why do you care what Alaska does with it’s own money? Almost sounds like you’re wanting it all for yourself.
And perhaps more on point, what does any of this have to do with the thread topic?

We are and always have been a constitutional republic.

Better go bush up on your history because democratic is not mentioned once in any of the founding documents.
