Except that the US is a representative republic
No. They believe in a representative republic as this nation was designed.
Btw. Who was it that tried to keep Trump off the ballot? Oh yeah. Leftists
Who is it that is trying to keep third party candidates off the ballot? Oh yeah, leftists.
Who is it that in putin like fashion is trying to jail their political rivals? Oh yeah, leftists.
Looks to me as leftists are the ones who fear elections.
This is an interesting article that tries to answer the question of democracy vs republic and explains how the word “democracy” is part of the equation.

Oh goody.
A leftist study that tells us we are not a constitutional representative republic but actually a democracy.

When it is not the form of government that the US has, yeah boo for democracy.
After all, another phrase for democracy is mob rule.

That article got so close!
“A republic is a form of government in which “power is held by the people and their elected representatives”.
So close!
Well I did not take it as leftist as it attempts to answer the question and discuss the topic from both left and right.
I have not heard anyone say the US is not a republic but the word democracy is used by politicians on both sides. In fact many posters on the right here have used the term democracy when discussing the US.

“Our” democracy is only used by one side.

Arguing is how things get settled.

Pelosi was a big one for “our” democracy. It has a specific meaning in neo-Marxism.
I doubt she knew it.

Even Trump does it!
“Joe Biden is not the defender of American democracy, Joe Biden is the destroyer of American democracy.”
