weve been over this before. he says the exact same things about Moldova (which will be next) the Baltics and parts of Poland he said about Ukraine pre invasion. Why shouldn’t I believe him? They are already pushing the asymmetrical warfare there, next is the little green men that will lead “separatist movements”. In the end, NATO will be involved militarily. There is one way to stop it. Make sure Russia does not win in Ukraine. These things are just true, they are on the table and Putin has put them there. Denial doesn’t make them not true, refusal to acknowledge them does not make them not exist.
and what do you offer? MAGA bumper stickers.
When you can explain how Russia winning a war of conquest in Europe benefits us, come back and try again.
Now, all of that said. I happen to agree we need to change our status in NATO. Not drop out of it, but change to “observer” status. This accomplishes two things.
Frees us up to build on ANZUS bringing in SK, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, and eventually Taiwan and India. This will keep China in its box.
Allows “strategic ambiguity” with regard to NATO making Russia think twice about trying anything and the EU doubtful enough to behave.
That however cannot be done until Ukraine is settled and a part of NATO. If Russia is allowed to win in Ukraine, it can’t be done at all.
Yes it would! It would be mildly hilarious to have them explain why they cannot make aid to Ukraine budget neutral. Why their only way is to go further into debt.
Agreed. But if he isn’t stopped in Ukraine, then where? I’m ok with doing the right thing like defending people from a fascist invasion. If our troops are not involved and it’s budged neutral.
Republicans still have to decide what they’re going to do regarding Ukraine. You’ll have to decide what to cut or fund or if Ukraine is even a concern of American foreign policy.
You can taunt and tease the Democrats, but you can’t transfer responsibility to them.
I don’t believe that. I also didn’t believe that he would get Me-he-co to pay for the wall. But I believed in about 90 percent of his policies. Which is why I’m thrilled that he won. And I still like my idea.
It’s an awful idea. If the Republicans want to pass legislation spending less on Americans to continue funding the war in Ukraine, after Trump said he’d end it in a day on an America First agenda, go for it. Dems would be fools to take any part in it.
