Every attempt at an unmoderated platform has been a money loser. Turns out nobody wants to advertise where Nazis run unchecked and they’re not fun places to hang out.

There lots of studies that show a huge uptick in all forms of extremism on Twitter since Musk took over.
That’s the “free speech”. None of this is a surprise.
Interesting enough, Elon just announced “from the river to the sea” and “decolonization” are banned phrases that will get you suspensions from Twitter.

Dang. An hour ago he was being blasted for allowing unspecified extremist anti Israeli speech. He blocks that kind of speech and is immediately blasted for not defending free speech.
I conclude that what is really wanted is someone who will follow the FBI directives for the next election, just as was done for 2020 and the laptop.

You are absolutely correct. Musk and therefore Twitter are being attacked as anti semitic and then when he bans attacks calling for the eradication of Jews in Israel, he is attacked for being against free speech.
This has more to do with such things as laptops than Jews.

I find the whole thing very funny because it is ending up exactly like everyone knew it would… and Billions of dollars were lit on fire for it.
Agreed, it’s humorous. Free speech guy gets some negative reactions to a tweet and then bans two phrases to lower the heat. And that gets spun into “you should be happy!”

Musk is finding running a true free speech social media site where any and all opinions can be expressed when it relies on advertising is difficult.
Plus his micromanagement is not helping. I have never seen the owner of a business micromanage at the level he does and for it succeed.
I have to wonder how long his investors will wait patiently for a return. They certainly did not invest out of a sense of social philanthropy.
