Sell it to the advertisers.

Its a false canard anyway, use the most egregious examples to justify censorship, broaden as you please. And they think everyone is dumb enough to fall for it. No, I don’t care if Kanye says he likes Hitler, I care that he likes Hitler, there is a difference.

Not true.

True and everyone knows it.
I don’t see BLM on the list, but a group of left wing organizations.

Btw, It was announced today that Amazon and Apple will be resuming full advertising on Twitter. Once one group of an industry resumes, the others won’t be far behind. They aren’t going to allow their competitors to have unique access to 250,000,000 potential customers.

Kind of looks like we have a rebellious CEO class on our hands who were sick and tired of being terrorized by the twitterati.

edit to add I don’t expect free speech and democracy to prevail

So this one ā€œopen letterā€ was enough to get companies to pull their advertising.

If these letters are so powerful why not just get right wing orgs to send a similar letter and then these pushover CEOs would go straight back to advertising.

LOL.

No, you need some sort of open source communication program sor something like that, not a commercial enterprise. It would soon be filled with so much spam and weirdness you probably would stay away from it.
From a commercial program, the most we can hope for is one that isn’t tied to exactly the same biases as Facebook and Alphabet.

Us: They took away my Twitter account. I can’t post my memes anymore.

Its ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  insane how apparently now Twitter is the very bedrock of our freedom And this from everyone who allegedly never actually use the ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  platform.

Incredible.

Or that someone who thought it was so inconsequential would have 108 posts in this thread.

I find it a fascinating topic but nice way to try and deflect from my comment. I understand why you did it

109 posts

You have more posts than he does.

Do you have a Twitter account? I do, but only as a consumer. I don’t tweet at all.

Nope. But then I wasn’t the party that started posting about the imagined intent or motivation of others, was I?

This article explores scenarios where Musk uses more Tesla money to support Twitter.

https://news.yahoo.com/twitter-collapses-tesla-far-behind-110300652.html

The scale of this bet is fascinating. Win or lose it’s gonna be a fun one to follow.

Musk allows tweets: libs OMG he is letting in hate speech.

Musks censors hate speech : libs OMG musk is censoring speech.

Musk looses advertisers: Libs - see how horrible he is. Terrible businesses man

Advertising comes back: what will be the lib narrative be - musk caved, musk bribed them, they came back in spite of him. What else libs?
