We watched this the other night, I didn’t know what to expect, but it was fascinating and very well done. Melissa McCarthy is Lee Israel, author of several biographies who is down on her luck - hits on a scheme to forge letters from famous authors and playwrights. I read that McCarthy was not the first pick for the role but she was astonishingly good, as was Richard E. Grant. Based on Israel’s memoir.
Yeah i watched that too. It was a good movie. The whole time i was thinking wow a person can just make a letter up like that and get paid money. Of course it all catches up to her, but she seemed to enjoy the notoriety.
