Care to point to a time when US media didn’t lie?

I should have said new media perhaps.

Prior to the dissolution of the fairness doctrine, news media was more reliable and had much less of a political agenda.

I don’t think it’s very controversial to say the advent of MSNBC and FOX has led to new media that is much less dependable regarding unbiased facts and truth.

And regardless of the scale of lies today vs. yesterday, that’s moot. The question remains - what do we do about news media that intentionally uses it’s licensed capabilities to lie to the detriment of the country.

Baloney, there was no less of an agenda in the fairness doctrine era, it was just more one sided.

As for what to do about it, the constitution was pretty clear on that point. Government doesn’t get to decide what is true and what isn’t, they are subordinate to the people, not the other way around.
