I first heard this from rand paul the other day and have yet to see any medical evidence from a reputable physician. A virus isn’t going to discriminate. There’s some anecdotal evidence supporting kids not passing the virus, but there’s also anecdotal evidence that they can and have passed it on.
one problem is the latest research suggests that antibodies only last about 8 weeks. herd immunity may not even be possible and vaccines may prove useless long term. we need effective treatments or prophylactic meds.
physicians don’t do the research, they use its results. Chinese study, only one to date. Definitely needs more research, but the research that is in right now contact traced cases in China and found ZERO cases where a child passed the decease to an adult. Not one, not two, not maybe… ZERO.

I am not mistaken, and thank you for a perfect example of fear mongering from government scientists that is designed to drive fear and control people more than it is to advance science.
The study measure the amount of virus children carry, not whether or not they spread it.
The study says children should be “considered” transmitters, not that they are.
Why considered? Because even this study admits…

How many of them passed the decease to an adult? The study does not say, because it cannot say, because it did not test that. The headline is unsupported by the research.

they should be concentrating on treatments. if the research bears out, which there really is no reason to doubt, herd immunity and vaccines will prove mostly useless. On the positive side, newer strains seem less severe. As with other virus’ each new strain, though more virulent is weaker than the last. As the decease progresses each year it will become less. Will it become the equal of the flu or the common cold? Who knows.

I’m basically wondering when they will decide to go back to normal, or almost normal? Because they went from trying to prevent hospitals from being overrun to now trying to stop all infection.
If herd immunity and vaccines prove useless, at what point will they realize their current goal of preventing all infection is not feasible? Or do we wear the masks indefinitely?

real question is, will an effective treatment be enough, or will the left take the mere existence of the decease as licence to continue their authoritarian putsch of our Constitution. I believe that its mere existence will be used to gin up fear and curtail rights for a very long time to come.
No it actually didn’t. All they said is that there wasnt clear proof of transmission but it wasn’t something they studied nor did they rule it out
