Nothing disengenuous about it, by definition flattening the curve was to slow the rate if increase so as not to overwhelm the healthcare system. That is exactly what we accomplished.
if we had not done so we’d be seeing upwards of a million new cases a day and we’d already have well surpassed a million deaths.
From March 13-31 our daily new cases doubled six times. That is doubling every three days give or take.
Now take our new daily cases from March 13th and double it 48times and you get approximately where we’d be today.
You can do the same with the daily death count if you like.
By any definition we have flattened the curve.
