If someone informed you that they go by a specific set of pronouns, what would your reaction be?

It’s lazy. Be a man and commit. Say “She is over there.” If they correct you with, “Leslie is a dude.” follow with, “Coulda fooled me.” And be done with it.

Argue with them, like I’m arguing with you right now. It’s horse ■■■■ .

Yeah, probably wouldn’t stick around too long thereafter either.

Person A: Hello… my name is David but please call me Dave.

Person B: You look like you are a William… I am going to call you Billy instead.

I don’t see why its an issue at all. I feel like folks are just tossing these things out there as excuses to oppose what, at the end of the day, is simply letting people be who they want to be. Its silly to think teachers are going to have an issue with this when its common practice at the beginning of a school year or semester for the teacher to learn people’s names and find out if they go by like Chris instead of Christopher or they prefer to go by their middle name or something.

Frankly the only place that there is actual an issue to be resolved is trans people in sports. Otherwise its just the Gay Panic 2.0.

edit: I see @Jezcoe beat me to the nickname thing.

Well that’s completely irrelevant to our discussion.

And If someone started referring to you by your incorrect pronouns, would that make you angry?

Then accept me calling you by my preferred pronoun…I mean, if it’s no issue…

It really is about being polite.

Changing a pronoun is seriously the least that one can do.

It costs nothing.

I wouldn’t give a ■■■■ . Sticks and stones and all that.

Not at all.

The funny thing about the many of the issues the anti-trans folks have against trans folks is that its all contingent on whether the trans person passes. They have no problem calling a transwoman a woman if she looks like a woman because they have no idea… and I bet if they did know they still would instinctively use female pronouns because the trans woman is still matching their internal schema of what a woman looks like. There are passing transwomen who use the women’s room all the time and nobody says anything because they just go into a stall, do their business, and wash, and leave. Its not like they use the sink with their genitals hanging out.

To you. But no one’s telling you not to be you. You’re the ones demanding everyone else conform to your illusion.

Yet you give a ■■■■ if someone asks you to refer to them by a specific pronoun.

No there aren’t.

How many “trans” do you think there are?
