Pretty much.

But not yet. I still know people who can’t leave work, and the weekends book up fast.

But we’re almost there. Another month or two? Maybe three?

Only thing that can screw us up at this point is if the variants start breaking through the vaccines.

So let’s all push everyone to get jabbed to fight against rampant mutations in the remaining infectiable (is that a word?) population.

Why don’t you people trust the vaccines? By all accounts they are amazing. Get your shot, dump your mask.

I trust it.

Having said that just heard about an older professional contact of mine who just spent 13 days in the hospital after catching Covid 6 weeks after his second shot.

So you are part of the mask forever crowd? A .008 percent infection rate for vacinated people is too high to risk de- masking?

No. Not at all. Read my posts.

It’s funny, just had some one in the office and I was thinking about this thread. I asked him if everyone at his shop was vaxed. He’s said everyone but him. I asked him why not and we was like “I do t know. Just am not in a hurry”. And I just couldn’t believe it. Seems so strange to me.

I will say. Hard headed anti vaxer conservatives annoy me as much as the forever masker liberals. Maybe more.

I do t think this guy is a conservative. Maybe he is. We never talk politics.

Ok. That’s all I was asking and I thank you for your response. Me and you are in agreement. You’re right about everything that you said including my actions. But keep in mind that I am not an outlier. I got the vaccine because a person my age, much healthier, died from this. Most younger people act like that and continue to act like that.

It makes a difference because you still have to wear a mask to go into stores in some states. Still have to wear a mask at work. Once the mandate is lifted at least I can drop the mask at work. That is whether or not that is still their policy. I won’t need to wear one.

Because 6 women got blood clots after taking the J&J vaccine and they had to put a halt to it upon further investigation? I’m not even sure J&J is back up and running yet, is it? If that’s not an example of why not to trust a vaccine, I don’t know what is.

If that matter to anyone, they can get vaccinated and not have to worry about being infected by other vaccinated people. It’s certainly not a good reason to make vaccinated people wear masks.

I work in Oregon. Wearing a mask at work is in the OSHA rules now, vaccinated or not. Employer has nothing to do with it at this point. They get fined if an employee gets caught not wearing one or somebody complains though. I don’t know if it’s the same in your State, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was.

“Basic”

It’s not my problem. If some people refuse to get vaccinated, that’s on them. I am not responsible for their decision and I refuse to limit my freedom because of it.

Wait a minute. But that’s due to the mandate, right? Once the mandate is dropped in my state it becomes nothing more than a workplace rule. Like not having a cell phone or bluetooth device in the booth. No one listens to that.

Yeah due to the mandate.

Depends. They’re talking about making the rule permanent, but promise to revoke it when it’s no longer needed. It’s been temporary up until recently, but they’re not allowed to keep extending temporary rules under State law.

In my experience, the workplace rules you’re talking about are only there if an excuse is needed to get rid of an employee. They get ignored because employers don’t generally enforce them until they want to get rid of an employee and need a reason. Of course I work in an “at-will” employment state too, so take that with a grain of salt.

The question you should be asking is why is there a mandate? My State never had a mask mandate and we have had one of the lowest infection rates in the country and the about the lowest death rate. We now have the highest vaccination rate. All without government mandates.

The population of the entire state is also less than a million people. Might have something to do with it.

Statistically, the six adverse incidents out of 6.8 million doses administered, shows how incredibly safe the vaccine is. That’s much safer than many vaccines that people take routinely without pause to be concerned.

Someone is lying to you. OSHA is a Federal Agency; there is no Federal rule for wearing masks in the workplace.
