Former President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel panned the Democrat’s ‘Medicare for All’ plan over the weekend; calling the universal healthcare scheme ‘reckless’ and ‘untenable.’

Emanuel was speaking with ABC’s This Week when he was asked to comment on the far-left proposal championed by many Democratic presidential candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

“We’ve taken the position so far, the candidates have, which is basically Medicare for All. We’re going to eliminate 150 million people’s healthcare, and we’re going to provide healthcare for people coming over the border. That’s an untenable position for the general election,” said Emanuel.

“This is reckless. You’re literally hindering yourself in the general election,” he added.

Emanuel’s comments echo similar statements made by former Vice President Joe Biden on the campaign trail; telling supporters he prefers to expand provisions under the Affordable Care Act -better known as Obamacare.

“You’ve negotiated really hard for your benefits — with your union, with the employer. In my plan, you get to keep it. You don’t have to give it up,” said Biden.

“Biden proposes protecting and enhancing the Affordable Care Act – better known as Obamacare – by adding a public option that would give people the ability to purchase a public health insurance option like Medicare,” reports Fox News.
