In my defense I’ve been saying that there’s no real difference between the streets and politics for almost two decades. All power structures are essentially the same once you strip away the false piety, whether you’re navigating gangs or politicians or office politics or whatever.

Not much difference between navigating five or six different neighborhood cliques in high school, retaining cordial ties and various levels of affiliation without ever committing, and what Cardinal Richelieu did in France or Metternich in Austria.

Lol I actually appreciate the West Coast perspective on the same metaphor-after I got over kicking myself for not trying something like this ages ago-because I tend to think in terms of crews and neighborhoods and loosely affiliated cliques and not colors and rags and affiliations passed down through generations.
