It doesnt have to be the replacement. And Im not sure. But in all honesty. I watched my dad go thru this for three years. It doesnt get better and neither will he.
No one will admit to liking him, yet he always wins in his role. If you care about policy stuff (to the degree anyone in the GOP does) and the judiciary, you should appreciate him. He helped deliver on abortion for the social conservatives; he helped deliver tax cuts for the moneybag conservatives. Iāve never been sure what the base wants from this guy.
One of my favorite sayings regarding politics is ānever underestimate the stupidity of the voter.ā when I first heard it, it was said in jest, but unfortunately, it has been proven to be all too true.
ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā just need better candidates and break the mentality of āmy congress critter/Senator is doing fine, i know how they voteā crap.
Here is an odd way Iād like things to work. Now bear with me here.
#1 No elected official in the Congress or the President is eligible for election in any other Federal elected position until at least 1 year has passed from the end of their current or 1 year after leaving their current Federally elected position through retirement, resignation, or expulsion.
#2 No elected official may campaign or raise campaign funds while holding any Federally elected office.

There would be no term limits on Presidents or members of Congress, however no individual may serve consecutive terms in any Federal elected position even if the positions are different.
That means the President and members of Congress must leave the White House and Congress for at least 1 year before they can run for election again.
There would be no āincumbentā advantage as each seat starts with a clean slate.
Maybe if Presidents and members of Congress were more concerned about doing their jobs instead of raising campaign funds on the taxpayers time and running for reelection. Get elected, do your job, leave and run again after a break on your own time.
Nice example of a Petit Mal (absence) seizure by McConnell. Fairly common in the elderly after head trauma. Remember, he was in a rehab for 6 weeks after his head injury, that doesnāt happen unless he took a massive shot to the noggin. He wasnāt blinking at all, he just sort ofā¦stopped.
I worked with a lot of seizure patients in a care facility while going through college, it can be a little disorienting when the seizures stop, you can sort of see that too when his seizure stopped.
It was also reported he had another fall just recently on a plane.
If you have a seizure immediately after a traumatic brain injury, that is common and not an issue in and of itself. Those are often one and done. When you have one after that period, months or years later, then it is an issue that needs to be addressed because now you āhave a conditionā. He will definitely need to be on some sort of anticonvulsant and if he drives, they might have to consider whether he should continue to do so. Otherwise, it shouldnāt hold him back from serving in the Senate.
Which is a bummer in a way because he is damned good at what he does, that guy doesnāt get the credit he deserves and when he retires Democrats everywhere are going to breath a sigh of relief. I just want him to go out on his own terms and healthy to boot.
Thatās a tough one for me. My mother when she was alive was sharp as a tack at 87. We had long detailed conversations and she was right there the whole time.
