Yes. First off, it is plain foolishness to introduce a 15 yr-old child to firearms by giving them a complex gun like that Sig, and they were even more foolish to just hand it over to him without extensive training. I cannot imagine what they were thinking. They deserve to share in the punishment for the horrendous crime that their child committed under their noses.

No. We’re back to what I said earlier. The parents didn’t pull the trigger, nor did the school.

Execute him and be done with it.

There is nothing “complex” about that pistol.

Because I speak English.

Glad to hear you are ok. Maybe you were fortunate.I don’t know your situation.

  • great and understanding parents
  • no mental illness
  • no bullying

Not every child will have that.

The parents essentially told their kid “Here’s a gun. Go have fun.” The Community need for revenge is justified.

Not to you and me, but as a child’s first gun, it most certainly is. Shooting fundamentals should be taught on a simple single shot or bolt action rifle and/or a revolver, preferably a single action.

Perhaps the problem is there are a lot more people, so there are a lot more crazy or mean people.

I think there’s a level of complexity here that’s being ignored.

There’s not “a” problem, there are problems.

He lives in a rural area…not along side meth users…(If i understood him correctly)

It was a bit of sarcasm. He is also half black. I was pointing out, in my area allows me to not need to own a firearm. It could be argued zip codes and skin color has a lot to do with the safety and quality of living there.

My dad never owned a gun. While he did teach me personal responsibility, I learned about guns, starting at about age 11 or 12, from my older brother. I was shooting 12 gauge shotguns and 44 magnums by the time I was a 90 pound 13 year older.

And why would you assume that I was not bullied? I’d bet that most 90 pound 13 yr-olds were bullied in those days. It was part of growing up.

For that matter, who’s to say I had no mental illness? There wasn’t anyone looking for it back then.

Thanks for the honest answer Samm. :+1:

I disagree…arming a child is negligent in my opinion.

It remains to be seen if that is what happened. You are free to disagree.

Would it have been better if he had been 16, taken his car and run it through band practice in the parking lot?

Hey I learned that teachers need to mind there business and not read search history of kids. They are not required to protect the kids

Right @WuWei?

They have no business reading the search histories of students.

Would the 4 kids still be alive today if his parents had not bought him the gun on black Friday? I don’t think it can be more blatant than that fact.

Perhaps. But he did. Obsessing over counterfactuals is less than useless.

Waukesha guy killed 6 without a gun.

Sure they do.

Do school have “the business” of blocking porn from their computers?

Two different things.

No they don’t.
