My mother started a family traditon.
Every year on cChristmas Eve (sometimes on ChristmasDay) the family read Lynne Cheney’s book aloud.

Deeply patriotic, that woman loved America more than any woman I have ever known.

It’s been a good Christmas Day. Just hung out with my family most of the day doing little as possible. This afternoon, we went to a couple of family members homes to spread a little cheer and back home now watching Elf.

I hope everyone has had a merry Christmas!

Same here. Had a beautiful Prime Rib dinner, lots of laughter and a great time.

Very nice. We went to the ol’ lady’s grandmas and her aunts house. Had good gumbo at both places. Which found out my 1 year old really loves Gumbo. Makes sense I guess. He got that from both of us lol.

Awww. I love seeing how little one’s react to new foods.

I remember my son when he was just a little tyke… Everything was “chicken”. You could have shrimp scampi and he’s say, “this is good chicken!”

Honestly I’m pretty shocked how broad his palate is. He eats pretty much whatever you put in front of him. And his favorite snack is banana.

Talking of food, christmas dinner last night went terribly wrong. Thank god for cereal LOL.

That’s how I got the nickname soup bean when I was a baby.

Someone didn’t season the chicken.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I recall a Christmas where I made duck. My friend brought it over after someone went duck hunting. It smelled perfect, the skin was perfect.

We went to dig in, and it was hard as a rock. I tried to cut mine with a knife and it jumped off the plate. Someone else was spitting out buckshot.

We still laugh to this day about it.

Things like that make great memories.

My oven died halfway through cooking the Christmas ham. Lol

We did some quick finagling and.made it work, but I hate when that happens. Last time it happened was on a Thanksgiving a few years ago. Luckily my dad lives next door if you can call almost half a mile next door (which we do!). Lots of cooking and shuttling of food that year.

Those end of being the best memories.
