Melania Trump arrived at the US-Mexico border in Arizona Thursday afternoon, kicking off a regional visit to view detention centers housing migrants and their families.

According to Fox News, the First Lady’s visit comes as Democrats and a growing list of liberal lawmakers pledge to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, claiming the department was “tearing at the fabric” of American society.

“The visit comes a week after Mrs. Trump traveled to the border town of McAllen, Texas, to meet with officials there dealing with detained families. Just this week, liberal activists attempted to “shut down” ICE headquarters in Washington, DC; urging workers inside to “Quit their jobs” in protest of “family separations” along the US-Mexico border.
