Trump’s final weeks in office, Mark Meadows, his chief of staff, repeatedly pushed the Justice Department to investigate unfounded conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, according to newly uncovered emails provided to Congress, portions of which were reviewed by The New York Times.

In five emails sent during the last week of December and early January, Mr. Meadows asked Jeffrey A. Rosen, then the acting attorney general, to examine debunked claims of election fraud in New Mexico and an array of baseless conspiracies that held that Mr. Trump had been the actual victor. That included a fantastical theory that people in Italy had used military technology and satellites to remotely tamper with voting machines in the United States and switch votes for Mr. Trump to votes for Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Either the Republican leadership knows that there was shenanigans going on or they are scared that some would be found out. They could have approved a bi-partisan investigation that would have been completed by the end of the year, taken their blows and then go on to the mid-terms. Now they are expecting Pelosi to seat a special commission which they can say is totally partisan. Then it will be up to the evidence and how interested the public is in all of it.

I’m as sick of QANON as much as I am of CNN! Both are more of a disservice than a service. Biden won the dang election because of Trumps handling of the Pandemic, and economic stagnation during the pandemic. I am tired of CNN, they invent stories and report them as truth! Like for 2 and 1/2 years saying Carter Page was a Russian Agent, when he was CIA informant helping indict Russians. Much of today’s news is fake news, if you want news, you need to research each topic on your own and make your own conclusion.
