Why is a !7-yr-old considered a child in Florida and not in neighboring Georgia? If a17-yr-old Georga girl drives across the border with her older boyfriend, what transformation takes place that she is suddenly a child and he is a sex trafficker?

Yes, and to show you how arbitrary the law is, it is also illegal to take the 17-yr-old to Georgia to celebrate her impending birthday and have sex with her the day before, but if you leave her in Florida and go by yourself and have sex with a 16-yr-old Georgia girl you’re good … until you get back home and your 17 (or now 18) year-old girlfriend kicks your ass that is.

You seem to be babbling. Why would I or anyone else care how you feel about a particular law?

But in this instance, there is no judge because there were no charges and there won’t be due to the statute of limitations.

Why are you so hung up on an expired statute of limitations? Gaetz is being investigated for ethics violations, not criminal activity. Gaetz was at a party with illicit drugs. He paid two girls for sex (illegal behavior in Florida), one of which was underage. That is unethical behavior for a congressman.

Now that Gaetz has resigned, there is nothing left to see.

I’m not hung up about it, it’s just a fact. The person I responded to said tell it to a Judge. There are other people here besides yourself who still think he should be charged.

Was he charged? Was anyone at that party charged? We already know that a lot of happening. at the party were illegal, but someone in the legal system must have decided to let it all go rather than waste public resources prosecuting crimes that are as common as rain.

I never even implied he should be charged. The statute of limitations has long since expired. There is nothing to charge.

While you seem to be obsessed with whether Gaetz is guilty in the eyes of the law, I remain focused on the ethics probe. That is what brought Gaetz down.

Formally, the probe is done as Gaetz is no longer in the House. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the results of the probe leaked.
