Once bitten, twice shy. Whilst I obviously don’t know all the politicians in the USA, Jordan talent appears to be the ability to shout quickly. Other than, that to describe him as talented would be to take irony to the ultimate level. Gaetz is similarly limited in talent.
There has certainly been no inhibition in speculating about Trump running in 2024 even though he appears to be under investigation which if charged and found guilty would probably result in a gaol sentence.

Unless one is privy to everything that the person has said to investigators, it seems to me that a definitive claim that the person has not said it is somewhat problematic.

If that had been Biden, no doubt it would be laughed off as him meaning the First Amendment. All would be forgiven.
That is not a reasonable basis to make such a unilateral declaration since it is not possible to know what was said to the investigators.
