I do have an iPhone and I use it for 3 things - to call people, to text people and to take pictures of my dogs. I carry it when I’m out and about, in case of emergency, leave it on a counter when I’m home. I own it. It doesn’t own me.
And not to toss this into the religion forum, but any object that you allow to be the center of your relationship to the world, that you absolutely cannot imagine going without for a few hours, much less a day or more, is pretty close to becoming an idol. I’d prefer not to be bitten by the Apple.
