Younger Cubans are fed up with waiting in line for basics, of living lives of no tenemos nada, we have nothing.
They’re fed up with Communism. For those who think this is about COVID 19, as indicated in the article, similar protests took place in 1994x decades before the pandemic.
It’s only possible to apply the yoke for so long before those chaffing under it take to the streets.

The Democratic Socialists of America have come out in support of the Cuban government’s boot on the neck of its people. Strangely, Bernie, the Squad, and all of the other DSA communists currently in Congress are silent - are we even surprised that the Democrats have lied about their flirtations with socialism all of these years?

I have a general question: Why do we deal with Russia and (especially) China, but treat our neighbors in Cuba like outcasts?
Is this the best way to help them? It hasn’t helped in the last 60 + years.
I thought Democratic Socialists didn’t want to become Venezuela? Those that disagreed with them have been mocked for years.
the protests started due to vaccine shortages and the lack of tourist income.
I mean the lack of tourism in 2019/2020/2021 has killed what little economy they had.
