President Trump called Monday for reforms at the intersection of mental health and gun laws – including so-called “red flag laws” to take guns from those deemed a public risk – in the wake of back-to-back mass shootings over the weekend that left at least 31 people dead.

“Our nation is overcome with shock, horror and sorrow,” Trump said, in solemn remarks from the White House. “We are outraged and sickened by this monstrous evil.”

In unequivocal terms, the president also condemned white supremacy, responding to reports that the shooter in El Paso wrote a racist manifesto.
"In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy,” Trump said, standing beside Vice President Pence. “These sinister ideologies must be defeated. Hatred has no place in America.”

And yet what some find important is to ridicule the President for giving the wrong city.

My ridicule of Trump is just a passing comment this morning. It wasn’t very important at all. Morning has passed and I almost forgot about it.

If it makes you feel any better, I promise to call him out later this week when he voices White Nationalist ideology and/or claims that we are being invaded which he almost certainly will.

Yeah. Pretty unfortunate. Both sides seem to want some sort of running tally as to which side each gunman belongs to. How about this? There are people out there who will find reasons to do horrible things. Mental instability, poor socioeconomic and domestic standing, and feeling justified and encouraged lead to these events. The responsibility on us is to address these things. With or without gun control. This “blame the other side” game actually makes things worse. It further justifies the potential actions of a mass murderer by making them feel targeted and threatened.

Those cops did good.
