Tommy your imaginary expertise is laughable.
The fed’s went after them hard, and literally battled it out with them in the streets for several decades. Ambushes on streets and highways and turning those captured to work their way up to break up the families just like we do today with terrorists. Identify a cell and eliminate it, find their connections and eliminate the next.
The whole problem with the WOD and Gangs that started again in the seventies is that we never took it seriously. Cut off their supplies, cut off their financial networks, seize their property and assets and break their hold on power one block at a time in a sustained effort until the people living in those neighborhoods no longer have to live in fear of them.
Give the people a reason to believe that it will be a sustained effort and that they no longer have to fear cooperation with the police at any level and help them take their neighborhoods back.
We’re among the best in the world at doing this and it’s time we bring it home instead of trying to fix the rest of the world as our primary focus. Our own country is falling apart from the inside as shootings like this demonstrate.
We’ve been focusing on the wrong problems for too long letting our own country rot from within.
I’d be all for that if not for all the innocents that get caught up in it.

Actually it’s not too far off from what I suggested.
Tommy got stuck in his own imaginary world and all his experience fighting wars with a PS2 machine.
More aggressive anti gang policing could have. That requires increased funding and better tactics. That requires a lot more study and training that requires a lot more money.

They should put them all in jail for being in a gang at all.
Awhile back I lived in NW Arkansas. We had a huge influx of Latinos as Tyson expanded. And with it came a fast expansion of gangs. The Police Chiefs of the five cities got together and convinced the city councils to fund special anti-gang task forces in every city. They got the funds and the personnel and invited various cops from cities around the country with a lot of gangs to train them. And they went directly to the gang leaders and told them that there was going to be zero tolerance for gang violence and the recruiting of young kids. It really did have a impact and the gangs were pretty well neutered.

The odds anyone involved in this shooting was in lawful possession of the firearms they used are somewhere between slim and none.
Well it’s a good sixty years too late for that approach in Chicago.
Preventive medicine works before you are ill or injured.
That’s one area of law where more needs to be done. Since there are no official membership rosters etc it can be very difficult to prove under the law currently.
These are not stupid people at least at the leadership level and they frequently know the law better than the cops charged with enforcing it.

Poor girl she will have to go in hiding forever she would be a true asylum seeker to let in the country as her days are numbered if she isn’t put in protection.
