No more mask mandates on airplanes…(I’m literally flying almost every week for the next month so…thank God).

US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle said the mandate was unlawful because it exceeded the statutory authority of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and because its implementation violated administrative law.”

There’s a video about halfway down that link of flyers reacting to the pilot announcing the can take their masks off.

Cynically…if we can drop title 42 we can damn sure dump the stupid mask theater on airplanes…most people I’ve flown with seem to have mastered the art of eating and driinking verrrrrrrry slowwwwwly so the can maximize their fresh breath no mask time.

In response circle back psaki said “The CDC recommended continuing the order for additional time two weeks to be able to assess the latest science in keeping with its responsibility to protect the American people, so, this is obviously a disappointing decision,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday. “The CDC continues recommending wearing a mask in public transit.”

Here’s what the airlines apparently did today…

“United, American, Southwest, Delta, Alaska and other airlines late Monday said they were dropping their face mask requirement effective immediately given a federal judge’s ruling in Florida and the White House response to it…The mask mandate, announced in January 2021, had been set to expire Monday. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced last week that it would keep it in place until May 3 to allow more time to study the BA.2 omicron subvariant of the coronavirus that is responsible for the majority of cases in the country. It was the mask mandate’s fifth extension despite repeated requests from airlines and other travel industry officials to ease restrictions.”

I was on United all day yesterday. They made us wear it. I got an email from United saying they were still gonna enforce it. I guess when others said they were not, United saw the writing on the wall.

If someone wants to wear a mask, helmet, face shield, he’ll put on a hazmat suit for all I care…

Their choice.

I actually remember flying in may 2020 when Covid first hit and saw a whole family that pretty much fit that description.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…the masks that do little to nothing to actually help fight this virus, are the security blankey for some among us. I’m going to carry a pacifier with me for that…just in case moment. :+1:

I live in Palm Springs which is one of the “workest” cities in America and the only people I see wearing masks still are very old people. Definitely!
