The Prince George County Memorial Library System (a county government established, sponsored and controlled entity) is initiating a Free Social Justice Boot Camp program, open to high school students (9th grade and higher) and recent graduates. The goals are to teach (political) organizing and (political) activism in the community. The program will teach methods to engage (political) activism, make (political) connections in the community, develop (political) passions into (political) projects designed to ignite (political) change. The program is meant to be an ongoing endeavor, with attendees becoming the future mentors of the program. It is also more than educational in nature, with an additional goal of monitoring the progress of current Social Justice (political) activism projects and to propose new Social Justice (political) activism projects.

Only the progressive left uses the undefined mantra of “Social Justice.” This program appears to be nothing more than co-opting public facilities and programs for spotting, assessing and recruiting progressive political foot soldiers. Essentially College Commie Club night coming to a public library near you.

A common misconception is that 501c3 nonpartisan nonprofits can’t engage in any political activity but that is untrue, they are forbidden from endorsing a candidate or party and there are some upper spending limits on lobbying. Issues-based activism is perfectly kosher.

Of course a prog sees no problem with public controlled entities teaching political activism. I guess you missed the little part about monitoring the progress of already on going political activism projects and coming up with new ones to initiate. This isn’t a neutral program, it is a Social Justice affiliated program. It labels itself and identifies its political affiliation.

What’s wrong with educating about and promoting social justice?

All of my life there has been a sustained fear of communism in this country… guess what… it hasn’t happened.

We have gone more and more to the right.
