Did Japan say anything official with regards to postponing the Olympics yet?
The FTSE and the CAC are down at the moment by 2.13% and 1.77% respectively (8.15 pm my time).

trump contradicts cdc talking about people working with covid-19 as no big deal. that isnāt reassuring but probably not enough to rattle markets.
i donāt see much elseā¦goodā¦

Market opens by giving away over half of the gains from yesterday.

Reading about all the companies cancelling travel, and all the conventions being cancelledā¦this is going too deeply effect our economy.
I think this is jus the beginning. I would be short the market right now if I still traded. Like a one month put.

Already the rumbling of all sorts of public closures along the west coast.
I have a family member that works for Red Bull in Santa Monica. They have been given instructions to cancel ALL international travel plans, and any travel within the US has to be approved by the most senior member of the American HQ.

I predict once schools start implementing closures in specific outbreak areas it will ratchet up quickly.
My California-based company has implemented similar, though slightly less stringent, measures. Domestic travel is still ok, but employees are not to attend conferences even in the US. Even internal meetings of more than 50 people are to be virtual rather than in-person.
I suspect we will start to see more and more of these internal restrictions being implemented by quite a few organizations.
Yeah, thatās when things will get real for majority of Americans.
So the drop today is because America realizes that Trump might get re-elected?
Solid logic.
Its down now over 1000 pts. America clearly doesnāt want Trump anymore.
Or maybe its because Warren dropped out.
