I look at a President like a surgeon. I don’t care about his bedside manner. I don’t care if he cheats on his wife or his taxes. I don’t care if his owes his partners money - if I need a surgeon, I want the best skilled.

Donald Trump is a horrible person. He has lied, cheated and manipulated the system his whole life.

I believe he is feeling his own morality as he nears the end, a lot of people do. And in his own weird way, he thinks he’s atoning. Too little too late for society.

For me, the question is “how were the policies?”

Like most of them, some better than others. I liked the strategy, didn’t agree with all the tactics. I didn’t like the petty and personal attacks at all - he was his own worst enemy a lot.

But the direction I liked.

Jbiden is not a good person either. Whether he is a “better” person than Trump is irrelevant to me. His policies definitely are worse.

At the end of the day, I need policy, not a priest. I stopped expecting pols to show morality long ago.

Trump did what he needed to do with the vaccine - he broke the bureaucratic inertia. He also created more than enough white noise with the lie to drown out the achievement.

He should have worn a mask instead of playing macho man.

He didn’t, but he should have. Fauci shouldn’t have lied either, and Trump should have either fired him (he couldn’t) or supported him - not undermine him.

Trump forgot he was the President at times, that was one of them.

He is a petty, vindictive person. He is a rude lout. Self-centered and egotistical. I would not enjoy his company.

But America First.

So, I would suggest you rethink your stance that bedside manner doesn’t matter. Your own post provides a good example.

If you know a person is vindictive, manipulator, a liar and a cheat, and you also know (and I don’t think you would disagree) that he is an attention seeker, you could easily predict how he will work with others, how he would in fact LEAD others.

And you could predict, ‘hey, if we get in a bind, and he needs to lean on someone who might know more than he does, like say a general or maybe a epidemiologist…well, I don’t think his personality type will handle that well.’

You could also predict ‘you know, this guy lies about everything. there truly seems to be no bounds to his lying. I suspect he will lie about things - even an election maybe. in such a way as to not only undermine his credibility and effectiveness, but the very institutions enshrined in the constitution that he is sworn to uphold.’
