Marco Rubio, Meet Alex Jones

What a strange encounter. Admittedly, I’ve only seen Jones speak a few times, so maybe this is normal.

I stopped counting how many insane conclusions Alex Jones jumped to in this interview. For example, when Rubio objected to being touched by Jones, Jones assumed he was going to be arrested.

When Rubio, in response, said that he wouldn’t be arrested and that Rubio can take care of himself, Jones assumed that Rubio was threatening physical violence.

The most honest moment in the discussion is when Rubio laughingly called Jones a clown while walking away.

Does anyone respect this Jones guy?

He seems like he’s right in the wheelhouse of a half-dozen regulars around here.

Naturally, I’m wrong. But how am I wrong?

Although Jones is a complete ass, what he was trying to address with Rubio, who just played STUPID very well, was important to all Americans.

What was Jones saying that was important?

How so?

Rubio handled that well under the circumstances. Alex Jones - well, he was being Alex Jones …

2 whackados jabbing each other. Typical for today’s conservatives.

The filtering of speech where it is no longer free and identifying some speech as “hate” because it disagrees with your political philosophy is dangerous to us all. Today…the conservatives are being denied free speech. Tomorrow…it’s another group. NO GROUP should be denied free speech which is a basic tenet of our country.

Does anyone have a right to someone else’s private platform?

Does this apply to radio, television, newspapers or some other historical form of communication?

No. It doesn’t.

The only thing that you might be able to make a case for is public access cable.

But no one has a right to someone else’s private platform… especially when that platform is offered for free or in some cases, compensation through ad dollars.

Man, were yesterday not so insane, that would have been the best story of the day. Insane right wingers absolutely swarmed the senate hearing: and GOP rep Long absolutely handled it the best. If you haven’t seen this yet, it’ll likely be the best video clip you’ve seen all day:

Really? Is a bakery a private platform?

You are stretching the definition of platform very far.

Nice try comparing apples to oranges though.

No I didn’t…not even a tad. Why is one business free to discriminate but not the other?

How are the courts ruling on the matter that you are bringing up?

Nice one. Well done. Kudos.

Yes. Some people respect him. They are the type of people who spend 5 hours a day on you tube watching conspiracy videos and believing every one they see. Every society has it’s lunatic fringe.

He’s not being denied his free speech.

Conservatives are not being denied their free speech. Get a grip.

You can’t force a radio station, a TV station, a newspaper to carry your material. For free.
