Wonder why they chose her.

Jayapal is most definitely part of the problem. A big part.

She’s in the House. She leads the “progressive caucus”. This is their bill.

Love it!

We have a lot of honkers in this area.

It would appear that a more accurate representation of this scenario is, the D’s have quit Manchin.

So no spending is not moderate. Neither are give aways or whatever you want to call them. I’d call them investment but that’s what makes me a lib.

Anyway the correct way i think of saying it is that the gop has been dragged closer to the left. There is not a lot of 90s conservatism left. Trump hardly governed as a right wing anything other than some policies you and i disagree on. Same goes for the gop on the whole. Their budgets show little signs of cutting. They have given up early 21sr century social conservative stances etc.

The dems however have seen this as an opportunity to see how far they can take their agenda. They need to stop because the proletariat is clearly not impressed and in fact is repelled by where the earlier wins are taking the dems. As i said dems need to slow their roll

The good old canard the party left me.

The whole party didn’t. May be that’s why he hasn’t quit….

You guys.

Rural investment? Like farm subsidies? No.

By whom?

Agreed. They never did.

Have they? So abortion isn’t an issue?

Who is supporting him besides that Arizona woman?

If they force the vote in early January to make all Dems show their cards on this we may well find out. I suspect there is more than one Dem letting Manchin plow the road in front of them.

I don’t think he will switch sides. If he did he would still be the one vote. He might be a somewhat fiscal responsib lib he still was all for some of the other stuff in the lib bill like climate change stuff, childcare for all ect. I think we would regret for the short term gain we might get in judges.

Him going independent may make more sense.

He loses his power once he quits.

Right now he is the kingmaker.

Goes independent. Just another Senator.

Allan

He would still be the kingmaker if he went independent and caucused with the Dems. Both Bernie and Angus King are “Independents”.

Not true, he would have the same power, still a swing vote. even more so because he could threaten to remove Schumer as head of the senate.

I can imagine what’s going through her mind.

“Traitor!!! He’s a traitor to the socialist people’s republic!!! Send him to the countryside for reeducation!”

That’s what I think will happen long term.

Anyone who isn’t blind knows that a party purge is coming. The hard left is dominating party discourse and planning now.

He doesn’t want to be put underneath allegorical guillotine for not towing the line.

The Democratic Party is going to look really different in four years I think.
