Zero indication of a danger to the public. Thug criminals in self defense, yes.

Your characterization of thugs as “citizens” is curious. By any chance do you consider muggers of the elderly simply participating in practical jokes?

That is your opinion. It will be up to the jury of his peers to render a guilt or not guilty verdict.

That’s the American way.

It happens every day here in America.

A jury has no role in bail.

Thug is an opinion. Citizen with the rights of a citizen is a fact.

And that’s where one needs to be extremely careful with…because talk that one poster is saying taints the jury pool IMO.

Mr Rittenhouse is a citizen. And has a right to trial by jury of his peers.

The grand jury indicted him.

Happens all the time. ESP on high profile cases.

Will be very hard to get 12 people who have the not heard of this case.

I don’t believe a grand jury was involved.

You’re smarter than that Allen.

That’s not a requirement.

Don’t ever accuse a lib of having a sense of humor!

I don’t either.

Hey @TheDoctorIsIn how is Wisconsin getting around the 5th Amendment here?

The grand jury clause of the 5th Amendment is not incorporated to the states.

Hurtado v. California - Wikipedia

Well done. Does it need to be remedied?

I’m not such a huge fan of grand juries.

Understood, so your answer is no?

By the way I would have also accepted “preliminary hearings”, but you gave the better, more complete answer.

Plus 3 points.

I don’t know what my answer is, I’ve never really thought about it.

It’s not high on my priorities list, in terms of aspects of the justice system that I believe need to be remedied.

It’s not high on anybody’s list, 1884.

I don’t particularly care for piecemeal incorporation.
