WuWei: thinkingman: WuWei:11:30 at night you jump out of bushes growling, what the hell you think is going to happen? Scarecam?
Wonder if old dude is a vet.
most people dont get shot when they do this
And some do.
Would have been better if old guy had a heart attack.
yes but mercifully. freakishly few do
Most men know better than to do that ■■■■■

Yes it was.
jumping out of a bush is not a threat
no more than walking into the wrong apt and seeing someone on the couch

well, yes, to someone who carries with a trigger finger.
Sometimes people should just not do what the OP is saying…this is one of those times…

Nothing. Old dude is a bit startled, then sees it’s his son-in-law and is overjoyed; they go inside and get drunk, everyone’s happy, son-in-law likely lives to tell the story to his great-grandchildren in 50 years.

You opinion is irrelevant, you weren’t the decider. It obviously was a threat, he shot. Piece of advice, don’t ever jump of a bush at me.
Analyst’s Cardinal Sin.

well, yes, to someone who carries with a trigger finger.
what does that mean?
Stupid people doing stupid things frequently end up with predictable results.
The “Surpriser” could have just as easily been a real assailant intending to do grave bodily harm or death so your “Moar Gunz” meme certainly is nothing but trying to capitalize on a tragedy that will likely tear that family apart and in which one man is already dead.
Utterly classless.
We have 1.5-3 million lawful defensive gun uses in the US every year.
That was the constant refrain from one of our recently departed gun haters and shared by many others.
thinkingman: W_and_C: thinkingman:no being “moar careful” is the answer
Well, according to many ammosexuals, “moar careful” translates into arming yourself to the teeth anytime you walk down to your mailbox, so…
if you have a real point make it so we can discuss
Stories like these run counter to the tired notion that the more armed we are, the safer we are. It’s not just malicious, it’s tragic accidents like these that are more likely to happen with everyone running around armed to the teeth.
Lots of lives are saved by the guns being used in self defense. You seem to be over looking that.
These types of accidents are exceptionally rare. We have upwards of 16-20 million people lawfully carrying in the US on a regular basis yet these types of accidents are all but completely unheard of.
You are 5x more likely to be unlawfully shot by LEO’s than you are by licensed carriers or civilians who carry regularly in Constitutional Carry states.

That’s almost certainly what would have happened in Norway, old men or not.

The local lib newspaper predicted a wild west when we went to carry permits.
Incidents involving carry permit folks are very rare instead.

He wasn’t in Norway.
Would a cop have shot him?
Yes it was, someone rushing at you from cover in the dark and growling certainly represents a threat.
Correct, the more likely outcome would be an old man dying from a heart attack or stroke instead.
