Well my brother in laws son was 16/17 when this started to happen.

But I agree young children taking medications/surgery to transition is dangerous for many reasons. I know there are sound medical ressons when this should happen but those are not commonplace.

Any parent with a child expressing a desire to transition need to first engage in discussions with them and seek expert medical and psychological guidance. Not just from one but get second and third opinions.

I know its easy for me to pontificate as I do not have a child in this position but I like to think that is what I would do. I certainly would not ignore it or dismiss it.

anybody but biden. he is poisonous.

Much better the whims of a crit controlled state government.

I love how on the one hand critprogs are willing to fight to the death for the “right” to murder babies.

While at the same time fighting to the death to repeal the right to keep and bear arms because “kids are being killed!”

It’s schizo…

Too bad Reeves won.

He always had the advantage but considering the ongoing TANF controversy I was hoping that would push Presley over the top.

Republicans want it about abortion. Look at this thread.

Unless the left are pushing for forced abortion it doesn’t really swing the other way.

Doesn’t it?

Really not a surprise since Medical was already legal. Michigan has recreational legal and people from Ohio drive there to get it cheaper. The hope is prices will come down here and eliminate the need to pay 100 or more for a 5 minute dr appt to get approved and another 50 to the state to get your medical card.

If Dems find out you are pregnant within the first 15 weeks you have to have an abortion. Their own 15 week abortion legislation.

Anyways, this was the first election I actually voted for some Republican backed candidates, mainly for the VA school boards. I thought if I was crossing over this time then maybe that would somehow mean Republicans had this and nope, all four I voted for lost, and when the Dems find out what I did, they will be after me.

So you are proud that a minor female can now get a medical procedure done without parental consent?
Can they now get ANY other procedure done without a parent/guardian signing consent?
That was one issue I had with it.

The other issue is it didn’t set a limit as to when it could be performed. All it said was when a physician said the baby was viable. Wayyy to ambiguous for me.

I am personally against abortion except for rape/incest or mothers life. That said, who am I to dictate my personal views on strangers. So initially I was going to vote yes, until I read the ballot measure. The current “heartbeat” law is too restrictive, there needs to be abortion available for when it is medically necessary, but the ballot measure literally allows it to the moment of natural birth. The “viability” piece is too vague and there are no measures to prevent a Dr from saying the baby is not viable when it is.

The State will raise your children properly.

Problem is politicians in other states said the same thing and did restrictive bans. Deceit goes both ways.

So you are ok with a child having a medical procedure done without parental consent, like every other procedure?
If the measure had 2 things in it, I would have gladly voted yes.
Parental notification and a non ambiguous gestational time of 15 or 16 weeks. As written, it is left up to the physician to determine viability. Too vague and nothing to prevent a physician from saying the baby is not viable up to the moment of natural birth.

This measure had neither.
