Homework from you…read this link to find the massive flaw in Kirasnow’s analysis, and learn why familiarity with what the data is and what it’s actually measuring is extremely important in doing any analysis…and why the Interwebs are making us all dumber…precisely because the Interwebs make us think we’re so smart.

The information was analyzed by the CRS and show 276,412 reported charges against illegal and criminal immigrants over that three-year period as identified by Secure Communities, a federal program that essentially attempts to make best use of resources by identifying and prioritizing which illegal immigrants pose the biggest threat to public safety and should be arrested or deported. Fox News reports, “Of the 160,000 people in the database, more than 26,000 were re-arrested — accounting for nearly 58,000 crimes and violations. They allegedly committed nearly 8,500 drunken-driving offenses and more than 6,000 drug-related violations. The records also show major criminal offenses, which included murder, battery, rape, kidnapping and nearly 3,000 thefts. Roughly two percent of the crimes included child molestation, lynching, and torture, according to the 13-page Congressional Research Service report.”[13]

That still doesn’t say how many of those charges are homicides, or how the numbers given would compare to the rate among citizens. The numbers in that paragraph are so scattershot it’s impossible to even tell how many are duplicates (probably by design), or where the charge just related to entering the country illegally. It’s also noteworthy that that were a lot more undocumented immigrants in the country and crossing the border a decade ago than there are now.

No, it doesn’t open me up to any such charge. My opinion of Harris is completely neutral with regards to either race or gender, Of course it’s fascinating to read posts like yours on a site on which posters have routinely refer to Rachel Maddow, Rhodes Scholar, as a man, as “Madcow,” etc. That’s the contrast I’m pointing out - Harris isn’t even a basic History major. Her education degree is on Being On TV!! Let me ask you: why did Fox News hire Harris? Was it her intellect? Her reporting chops?

That’s nice, why do you “like” her? I have no opinion at this time, not having watched that person.
