I would do it if I had no other choice.
Having seen some apartments in super high density areas and the extreme price of rent… you actually get more living space in the van.
It’s nuts. But it’s becoming more and more common. One girl I saw on YouTube has been living out of an Express van for about six years now. She’s an artist.
She bought the van for about 15,000. Put about ten grand into the conversion. According to her it ended up being way cheaper than buying any kind of home or renting.
I do wonder if one day it becomes prevalent enough that the various levels of government begin to classify them as homes rather than just automobiles. That’s the big downside to them right now.
With a home there comes certain privileges and rights. Even as a renter you get certain rights. You get none of that living in a vehicle. Technically the cops wouldn’t necessarily need a warrant to search it. Since it is a moving vehicle, not a home.
